Annual Report of the
Committee 1940
Back

Your Committee beg to report as follows,
The numbers of new members elected during the year ending
December 31st 1940
are 3. The losses were as follows by death 4, by resignation 23, members whose
subscriptions have lapsed are 66. This it will be seen form a serious loss of
revenues for the club but it will be appreciated from a perusal of the
Balance Sheet that considerable curtailment of the expenditure has been achieved
so that the actual loss upon the year’s working amounts only to £25.14s.3d.
thus the position of the club financially remains perfectly sound.
The club has continued the issue bi-monthly of the R.A.C.
News paragraphs which appear to be fully appreciated and continues to distribute
the “Lifts for service men” labels, this work is assuming considerable
volume and is much appreciated by the men who benefit.
Legal Assistance has been afforded in a number of cases at
various Courts and the usual services have been maintained.
