The past year has been a particularly quiet one, both from the point of Organisation and Legislation. Apparently, owing to the pressure of Parliamentary business, intended measures which would have particularly affected motorists have not as yet been dealt with. Particular notice has been taken of the Bill introduced by Earl Russell, to obtain the Compulsory Insurance of all motor vehicles and the Royal Automobile Club are taking steps to obtain modification and adjustment of its terms to meet the wishes of its members.
Pressure is also being maintained upon the subject of compulsory rear lights on all vehicles, and it is expected that the regulations to this effect will be introduced into a bill to be presented at an early date.
The membership of the club for 1925, after deducting resignations and deaths, shows a net increase of 18 members, compared with 1924, and it is hoped that all members will assist the committee by the introduction into the club of further suitable new members.
Your committee again renewed their support of the Skegness race meeting, a fixture which is gaining more popularity annually. The usual arrangements were made by the club for the entertainment of its members at the Grantham exhibition of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society. These arrangements appear to have been given great satisfaction to those members who attended the Show.
The finances of the club are now in a thoroughly satisfactory condition, and the committee are considering arrangements to extend to the members extra privileges, which will make the membership of this club much more attractive than it has been in the past.
