LIZ COLLEY
It is with a very sad heart that i have to report to members the death of Liz Colley (49) at Lincoln Hospital on Tuesday 20th October. Our sincere condolences are sent to her husband, Jim, and all her family.
When Liz joined the club it was like a breath of fresh air. As chairman I saw Liz as one of the club's valuable committee members and a treasure for all the hard work she had put into the clubs activities, always full of enthusiasm. Liz launched and successfully developed our website; she also spent hours at Lincoln Archives trawling through the early years and history of the club's acitvities, much of which has been reproduced in the monthly magazine.
The photograph competition was another idea of hers for annual events. Liz was also heavily involved with Jim in other activities outside the Club, but was always willing to take notes at meetings and travel from Nettleham Heath to monthly and other meetings, health allowing.
Both Liz and Jim attended many events, wrote event reports and many other articles, and took photographs. She will be sadly missed on the classic car circuit. Together they organised the Leukaemia Research Fundraising Day, Classics and Cream Teas, at Langworth Memorial Hall, near Lincoln, on Sunday 9th August. This was supported by a number of club members and raised a total of £572 on behalf of patients, like herself, suffering from a blood disorder. Liz thanked everybody in her report in the September magazine.
