The Royal Air Forces Association is holding a classic car rally on Sunday 8th August which I thought would be of interest to your members. The summary of the event is below and an electronic copy of the poster for the event is attached. The rally is one event being run by our charity in this the 70th anniversary year of the Battle of Britain and promises to be an enjoyable day for all.

The summary of the day is as follows:

- Cars will retrace the general route of the Fosse way starting at its northern end near Lincoln or in the south west end near Cirencester and drive to a central point along the Fosseway, namely, the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, Warwickshire (Just off the M40 at Junc 12).
- Registration opens at 9.00am at RAF Waddington (South of Lincoln) for the Northern start and at the Inn at Fossebridge, Gloucestershire for the South West start. There will be a £10 entry fee per vehicle which will go to the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal which raises money for those in need.
- Rally sets off at 10.00am, traveling to the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon.
- Upon arrival, participants can watch the Morgan Sports Car Club Auto Solo event which is an outdoor driving event testing driving skill and they will get reduced entry to the Heritage Motor Centre itself with its extensive collection of historic vehicles and famous cars from the world of film.


Details of participants are required prior to the event so we are aware of numbers and for security at RAF Waddington.
